Vincent Mathias

Vincent Mathias completed his B.Sc. from Mangalore University and Bachelor of Law from Mumbai University. He started his career in a bank and resigned to be an entrepreneur, starting his packaging business in the year 1987 in Mumbai. Today he is the Founder and Managing Director of Velvin Group having businesses in Corrugation, Paper Bags and Edible Oil.

His leadership, commitment and contribution extends far and beyond Velvin Group. He was the President of WICMA (Western Indian Corrugated Box Manufacturer’s Association) from 2011 to 2013 and held many positions at the federation level. He also represents FCBM India (Federation of Corrugated Box Manufacturers) at an international level for the international corrugated cases association.

He formed the Christian Chamber of Commerce & Industry to foster the economic growth of the community by bringing all businessmen together and created a platform for interaction. Today it is a well-organized body with 700+ members and has emerged as the representative association of the Christian community. In 2012, he was awarded the Shri George Fernandes Excellence Award for his contribution towards social causes.

He joined Mr. John D’silva and team to start Model Co-operative Bank that currently has 25 branches and he continues to be a Director of the bank.

In the year 2019 Velvin Paper Products, Kundaim, Goa – the flagship company of Velvin Group received the World Corrugated Award 2019 in Shanghai, China.
